NBRC Bookclub
ABOUT THE CLUB

A Home for Thoughtful Readers

Feed your need to read - with a community that turns every book into a conversation worth having.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Reading, Reimagined as a Shared Adventure

We believe reading is fun and find unique and challenging ways to spread the love of reading. The aim of our book club is to entice you, grab your imagination, and create an environment where people can discuss their thoughts on books in a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere - thereby making everyone's reading experience more fun.

Although reading is often seen as an individual activity, you may be surprised to learn that reading challenges, "book of the month" discussions, reading games, and friendly competitions all help to enrich our love of books, read more, and find great book recommendations together.

THE TEAM

The Readers Behind NBRC

Five readers turned stewards of a global community.

Jennifer Hudson
Founder

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer founded NBRC Bookclub with a simple belief: that reading should feel like an adventure shared with friends. Over a decade of championing emerging authors, hosting reading challenges, and building one of Goodreads' most active literary communities, she has shaped a club that treats every book as a doorway and every reader as a fellow traveler.

Eldarwen Wilf
Community Lead

Eldarwen Wilf

Wilf is the connective tissue of our community - bringing readers and authors together through ARC tours, reading games, and seasonal challenges. A lifelong reader with a soft spot for ambitious literary fiction and historical epics, she turns casual readers into devoted ones.

Sophie
Club Moderator

Sophie

Sophie is the steady hand behind our daily community life - curating monthly reads, moderating discussions, and welcoming new members. She keeps every conversation warm, generous, and always book-first.

Karen ⊰✿
Club Moderator & Goodreads Librarian

Karen ⊰✿

Based in Sydney, Australia, Karen has been moderating Nothing But Reading Challenges and The Perks of Being A Book Addict since 2012. A ranked Goodreads librarian (#87 reviewers, #25 librarians) with 1,800+ ratings and 1,690+ reviews, she reads widely across fiction, historical fiction, mystery, young adult, contemporary, urban fantasy, and speculative work - and is a champion of audiobooks for car trips, gardening, and mosaic-making.

Judith
Community Moderator

Judith

A reader since 2011 with 4,950+ ratings and 230+ reviews, Judith brings curiosity across history, science, economics, environment, and art into every discussion she joins. She'll read anything - from the Twilight series to an 800-page Ben Franklin biography - but tends to favor crime thrillers and science fiction, which she devours at speed.

A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
To the Authors Who Trust Us With Their Work

Dear Author,

When you hand a book to a reader, you are not handing them pages. You are handing them hours of their evenings, conversations with people they love, a small reordering of how they see the world. We do not take that lightly, and we do not want any platform that does.

NBRC was built as the bookclub I always wished existed for the writers I admired - a place where your novel is not a content unit, where reviews are written by people who finished the book, and where being featured means something because we mean it.

If you write with care, we will read with care. We will champion you to a community that shows up. We will put your story in front of the people most likely to fall in love with it, and we will tell them why. That is the whole promise.

Thank you for the work you do. We cannot wait to read what you wrote.

- Jennifer Hudson

"Every great book starts as one person trusting another with their imagination. Our job is to honor that trust - twice."

- Eldarwen Wilf
